A novel discrete coordinate approach to modelling nonlinear structural instability problems with material damage

چکیده

A novel analytical framework for the inclusion of active damaging processes in a structural stability analysis is presented. The considers quasi-static deformation and formulated terms discrete coordinate approach, employing an extended total potential energy functional, where current damage state expressed geometric configuration applied loading. Within framework, efficient structures prone to buckling instability material enabled particularly initiates once has been triggered. Composite panels with multiple mechanisms (e.g. delaminations, matrix cracks) are studied showcase its application.

Instability of the Determinants of Birth Intervals in Ahvaz-Iran: A Structural Change Modelling Approach

Birth interval is one of the major determinants of the fertility rate. In this paper structural change approach is used to study the instabilities in the effects of different socio-economic factors on birth intervals of children with respect to couple's years of marriage factor in Ahvaz-Iran. A class of M-fluctuation tests for parameter instability is used and based on these tests different evi...

A nonlinear dual domain decomposition method : application to structural problems with damage

A dual domain decomposition method dedicated to nonlinear problems is presented. The decomposition is introduced in the nonlinear formulation and the nonlinear problem is first condensed on the interface then solved by a Newton-type method. Considering the specificities of the introduced operators, the algorithm can be interpreted as a local/global strategy with global Newton-type iterations an...

A Novel Combinatorial Approach to Discrete Fracture Network Modeling in Heterogeneous Media

Fractured reservoirs contain about 85 and 90 percent of oil and gas resources respectively in Iran. A comprehensive study and investigation of fractures as the main factor affecting fluid flow or perhaps barrier seems necessary for reservoir development studies. High degrees of heterogeneity and sparseness of data have incapacitated conventional deterministic methods in fracture network modelin...

A dynamic programming approach for solving nonlinear knapsack problems

Nonlinear Knapsack Problems (NKP) are the alternative formulation for the multiple-choice knapsack problems. A powerful approach for solving NKP is dynamic programming which may obtain the global op-timal solution even in the case of discrete solution space for these problems. Despite the power of this solu-tion approach, it computationally performs very slowly when the solution space of the pr...

A Cognitive Approach to Modelling Structural Change

The ability to account for developing as well as stable states is considered an important general requirement for theories in a variety of disciplines. Sometimes, however, theories developed in the first instance to deal with the more straightforward cases do not easily extend to the more difficult cases. This is apparent not only in Economics, where rapidly changing structures call for the re-...
